Fun Food: Chocolate-Peanut-Banana Swirl
Here's another yummy fun food for the kids to make. If chocolate is a no-no around your house, substitute carob. You can also try jam or preserves as a substitute for the peanut butter.
Ingredients:
1 medium banana
1 cup milk (whole, 2%, skim, soy, etc.)
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Directions:
1. Cut the banana into 1 inch pieces. Wrap them in plastic wrap or foil and freeze til firm.
2. Unwrap the banana pieces after firm.
3. In a blender container combine the banana pieces, milk, chocolate ice cream, and peanut butter.
4. Cover and blend until smooth.
Yield: approximately 3 (6 ounce) servings.
This looks like a regular chocolate shake, but one taste and you'll no this is no ordinary shake. Technically you don’t have to freeze the banana, but freezing the pieces does help with the blending process and the ice cream stays frozen longer as well.
