Push Button Peach Cream
When it is time to start teaching daily living skills, including the use of small appliances, this is a fun activity for the kids to give a whirl. The “push button” is actually a blender. As an added bonus, this makes a healthy snack.
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen and unsweetened peach slices
OR one 9 oz. can peach slices chilled and drained
Note: if you use frozen, unsweetened peaches you will want to add approximately one tablespoon of honey or the equivalent of a sugar substitute.
1/2 of an 8 ounce container of vanilla yogurt (approximately 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup milk (whole, 2%, skim, or soy)
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions:
1. In a blender container, combine the frozen or canned peach slices, the vanilla yogurts, the milk, and the nutmeg. Also remember to add your sweetening if you are using unsweetened, frozen peaches.
2. Cover the blender container and blend until the mixture is smooth.
3. Pour the mixture into two small glasses and sprinkle with a little more nutmeg as a garnish, if desired.
