Two-Tone Juice:
A Demonstration of Density

Ever had trouble figuring fun ways of demonstrating different scientific principles? Here’s a cool … and delicious … way to demonstrate density in a very colorful way.

Ingredients:

¼ cup chilled peach nectar
¼ cup chilled red Hawaiian punch or cherry drink

Directions:

Pour the chilled peach nectar into a small glass. The carefully tilt the glass and slowly add the red fruit drink. Carefully turn the glass back up right. Do not stir!

This drink stays in two layers because the juice on the bottom is heavier … or dense … that the juice on top.

This is a fun activity at a child’s science party or just for fun any time.
