Homemade Gifts: Plum Honey
This is a very easy, homemade gift for a child to make. You mix three ingredients, microwave it, and then save it in an airtight container. What could be more simple? Perfect for breakfast!
Ingredients:
3 cans (15 1/2 ounces each) whole purple plums, drained, pitted, and chopped
1 (12 ounce jar) orange marmalade
2 cups honey
Directions:
Place the drained, pitted, and chopped plums and the marmalade in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH power (100%) for two minutes or until the marmalade melts.
Stir in the honey until well blended.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. This is great served with breads or used as a glaze for ham, chicken, or game meats.
Yield: approximately 5 1/2 cups of plum honey.
