October is National Popcorn Month!
Did you know that in addition to all of the other seasonal activities, October is National Popcorn Month?! To help you and your child(ren) celebrate this fun event, we'll be bringing you a different popcorn recipe or activity every day for the remainder of this month.
Throughout the month we will also talk about the nutrition and history of popcorn, as well as some craft ideas. Lots of fun! Today's recipe is:
Popcorn with Saucy Butter
Ingredients:
3 T. butter
1 garlic clove
2 t. chives or 1 t. chopped green onions
1/2 T. chopped parsley
2 quarts popped popcorn
salt to taste
Directions:
1. Melt butter over low heat.
2. Chop garlic into large pieces.
3. Place in butter for 3 to 5 minutes, then remove.
4. Add chives or green onion and parsley.
5. Heat on low heat for one minute.
6. Drizzle over popcorn.
7. Add salt to taste.
Yield: Makes 2 quarts.
