Treasure Rocks

This is a favorite treat in many of the children's groups that I participate in. The age of the children playing with or receiving the "rocks" should be taken into account when deciding on the prizes that will be put inside.

Project Supplies:

1 C. used coffee grounds
1/4 C. sand
1/2 C. salt
1 C. flour or more
1 C. water

Directions:

Mix all ingredients and stir until dough-like. Shape into balls. Make a hole in the ball. Put a "treasure" into the hole, then fill the hole. Air dry for 2 days or 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 150ºF.

Break the "rock" open to find the treasure.
