Celebrating Thanksgiving: Thanksgiving Bingo
Here's a holiday twist to the traditional favorite game Bingo.
First you need to make or duplicate cards that have nine, twelve, or sixteen squares ... similar to traditional bingo cards. This is the main piece for your game.
Have the child(ren) help you to come up with a list of ten to twenty Thanksgiving words. Let each child print any of these words randomly in the squares of their blank bingo card. You also need to print these words on small pieces of paper.
Put the Thanksgiving words on the small pieces of paper in a container and give them a good shake so that they are out of order. Shuffle them around as well as possible. It may help if you fold the papers up to give them more "tossability."
Draw the words out of the container one at a time, giving the child(ren) time to see if it is on their bingo card.
If it is, the child can cover that square with a button, penny, square piece of construction paper, foam shapes, etc.
Just like in regular bingo, the first person who fills up a line ... horizontally, vertically, or diagonally ... is the winner. You can also play "four corners" or "fill the whole card" versions of bingo.
