Extension Project: Flavored Butters

Once you’ve made your homemade butter, here are some fun variations to make. These are yummy and the kids will get a great kick out of making and trying something new!

Cinnamon-Raisin Butter

1/2 cup softened homemade butter
1 t. ground cinnamon
3 T. powdered sugar (optional)
1/4 cup raisins.

Beat together the cinnamon, powdered sugar, and butter until the mixture is fluffy. Gently mix in the raisins.

Maple-Nut Butter

1/2 cup softened homemade butter
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 T. chopped pecans

Beat all ingredients together until smooth.

Honey Butter

1/2 cup softened homemade butter
1/4 cup honey

Beat mixture together until fluffy.

Orange Butter

1/2 cup softened homemade butter
1 1/2 t. grated orange peel
3 T. powdered sugar (optional)

Beat ingredients together until smooth.
