Bread Slice Clay

This clay has very few ingredients and is easy to use with both individual and groups of children. The clay will keep for a few days. Its one of the messier clays so you’ll need to keep a damp washcloth handy. This is a good clay to make homemade ornaments with.

Ingredients/Materials:

1 slice of white bread
1 teaspoon of what glue
1 teaspoon water
Food coloring (optional)
Acrylic gloss and brush

Directions:

1. Cut off the bread crusts.

2. Pour the glue and water into the center of the bread.

3. Knead until it forms a ball, will take about five minutes.

4. Add food coloring, if desired.

5. Shape the clay and let it harden over night.

6. Apply acrylic gloss over the piece if you wish to save it for a long time.
