Fun Food: Kool-Aid Frosting
This has to be just about the easiest recipe that I've ever used. But do you know …. It works!! By making it stiff enough, I’ve even been able to use it for piping flowers, border, and other shapes for decorating cakes. And the color and flavor are a real plus and are a lot cheaper than buying those color pastes and flavored oils from the cake decorating shop.
Using this recipe makes it so much easier … and less expensive … to decorate a cake or cupcakes for the culminating events for our unit studies.
Ingredients:
1 package of unsweetened Kool-Aid
1 lb. powdered sugar
Milk to make spreading consistency
Directions:
1. Mix the powdered sugar and the Kool-Aid until both are thoroughly blended together.
2. Add milk a teaspoon or tablespoon at a time until you reach the consistency you want.
Frosts 1 cake.
