Lesson 6: Daily Life in Mesopotamia: Activities

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Using some gardening catalogues, plan an ornamental garden. Plant a window box garden if you do not have any yard space.

1. In which hardiness zone do you live? (Your hardiness zone determines the types of plants which will thrive in your region).

2. According to your catalogues, what plants are best suited to your region's climate? To the size of your available space?

Use art straws, string, and thin card stock to make a replica of a Sumerian reed hut.
