Mock Maple Syrup
Maple syrup, as delicious as it is, can be a bit pricy. Here's a taste-alike that the kids can whip up in no time flat. Set it in a pitcher on the table with warm pancakes and see if anyone can tell the difference.
Ingredients:
1 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. Karo
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together.
2. Bring to a boil and cook 5 minutes.
3. Cool.
4. Pour into bottle.
5. Cover tightly and refrigerate, if not using immediately.
Butter flavoring can be added, if desired.
