Cupcake Cones
This fun cooking activity has to be tried at least once. They go over really well at parties! Vary the cake mix flavor and cone by using the colored ones, and you’ll have a dessert or snack talked about for meals to come.
Ingredients:
1 2-layer package cake mix
1 16-ounce can frosting
24 flat-bottom ice cream cones
Candy sprinkles
Directions:
1. Select your favorite flavor cake mix and frosting go-togethers.
2. Preheat oven as directed on the cake mix package.
3. Prepare cake mix according to the package directions.
4. Spoon enough batter into ice cream cones to fill 1/3 full.
5. Arrange cones on baking sheet.
6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until cake tests done when toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
7. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
8. Spread each cupcake with frosting; swirl frosting into point at center of top.
9. Decorate with candy sprinkles.
Yields 2 dozen.
