Homemade Gifts:
Peaches and Cream Bath Bars

Here’s an easy, homemade gift for you to try with your children. I’ve not met anyone yet that doesn’t enjoy the smell of this soap.

Ingredients:
1 (4 oz.) bar castile soap (unfragranced baby soap works well)
1/4 C. distilled water
1/4 C. powdered milk
1 T. sweet almond oil
1/8 tsp. peach fragrance oil
1 drop orange food coloring (optional)

Directions: 1. Shred the soap and set aside.

2. Heat the water in a heavy saucepan over low heat.

3. Stir in the shredded soap until it forms a sticky mass.

4. Remove the pan from the heat and add the powdered milk, sweet almond oil, peach fragrance oil and food coloring, if desired.

5. Stir until well blended.

6. Spoon the soap into mold and set for 4 hours or until hardened. You can use simple, plastic candle or candy molds for this purpose.

When you have mastered this fun and easy process to make your first homemade soap, you are ready to try more advanced soapmaking and even candlemaking! You can readily find easy-to-use soapmaking and candle making supplies for beginners right on the internet.
