After working out a few word problems for demonstration write a problem on the board and allow students to attempt the problem on their own.

Activity: Give students a worksheet to complete, encouraging students to help their peers if possible. As a final activity, have students create their own word problem involving money and have them trade with other classmates. Have students solve their peer’s problems.
