The Great Backyard Bird Count

February 15th - 18th (2008) is the Great Backyard Bird Count!

The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent.  Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers of all ages to experts.  It takes as little as 15 minutes during the 4-day span -- then you enter your results at the website.  Here is an audio/visual narrative with some history of the 'count' and how to take part:
