A Presidential Unit

Franklin Delano Roosevelt is considered one of the greatest presidents of the 20th century. When he came into office as the 32nd president, he passed laws and started programs to help people through the Great Depress. He called his plan "The New Deal." He is also the only president to serve more than two terms in office.

"Even though Franklin was into a wealthy family, things were not easy for him. In 1921, as an adult, he became sick with polio and his legs were paralyzed. For the rest of his life he he had to wear leg braces and needed help walking. He spent much of his time in a wheelchair.

As president, he helped the USA through two major historical events ... the Great Depression and World War Two.

Less than three months into his fourth term, FDR had a strong and died just before the war ended.
