Celebrating Thanksgiving: Pumpkin Nuts
This is a super little activity for kids of all ages to take part in. Only note of caution I have is that it does include nuts which some folks are sensitive/allergic to.
Pumpkin Nuts
Ingredients:
1 egg white
1 teaspoon water
1 (4 oz.) can Diamond walnuts halves
1 (6 oz.) can Diamond unblanched whole almonds
1 (8 oz.) jar dry roasted peanuts
3/4 Cup sugar
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
3/4 tsp. salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300°. Mix egg white with 1 teaspoon water in large bowl; coat nuts. Pour sugar, spice and salt over nuts and mix well. Spread on buttered cookie sheet. Bake 20-25 minutes. Cool about 5-10 minutes, then lay on wax paper. Break into pieces.
