Celebrating Thanksgiving:
Graham Cracker Turkey Cookies

This is a really good activity for small groups such as co-ops, classrooms, and sibling groups.

Project Supplies:

1/4 cup unsweetened frozen apple juice concentrate
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 sliced banana

* Graham Flour is a kind of flour, just like the more common wheat flour. If you can't find it in your supermarket, try calling health food stores.

Project Directions:

1. Combine apple juice, oil, banana, vanilla, and cinnamon in a blender.

2. In a large bowl, mix together graham flour, whole-wheat flour, baking soda, and salt.

2. Add apple juice mixture to flour mixture and stir thoroughly.

3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out with turkey shaped cookie cutter.

4. Use a fork to poke holes for eyes and feathers.

5. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes.

Yield: Makes approximately 2 to 3 dozen cookies, depending on size of cookie cutter used.
