"Bill Clinton was the first "baby boomer" -- a person born after WWII -- to become President. As a teenager, Bill Clinton met then President John Kennedy. This made such an impression on the young Clinton that he decided that he wanted to be President some day. He is the only President to be a Rhodes Scholar.

Once he had made up his mind, Clinton immediately started into politics, working his way into serving as State Attorney General and Governor of Arkansas. When he decided to run for President he was a "dark horse" candidate, being little known outside of Arkansas.

Defeating an older and less charismatic man, Clinton was at first a very popular President. He brought lots of young and enthusiastic people into the White House. Unfortunately, many of these young advisors were not ready for the challenges that would face the Presidency. Clinton also made many poor personal choices that nearly caused his impeachment and affected his ability to perform effectively in his leadership position.

Clinton ended his second term as President under a cloud of scandal.
